• This Old Guitar And Me3:16

I curse the rain it's been slowing me down
its turned this highway into a battleground
I hear a voice on these winds that I roam
and it's telling me boy it's time to go home

To the arms that long to hold me
to the hearts that need my love
to the ones who miss and want me
and make me feel I have more than enough
And there's no such thing as to much good love

I guess I'm  fool I looked myself in chains
Then lost the key leaving me to blame
I'm the weak link I gotta break free
and let this highway carry me

chorus

I work my fingers down of the bones
trying to keep up with the Jones
The more I want more time I give
I don't live to work I work to live
I want to live to work not work to live

I must admit I got a pretty sweet life
I got three great kids and a dynamite wife
make me wonder what I'm doing out here
Without a trace I'm gonna disappear

Chorus

  • Second Wind 3:34

There will always be someone who's tougher than you.
Don't let that outweigh anything that you do
It's not how hard you hit
that will keep you alive.
It's how hard you can take one that'll help you survive.

You can't lie to your self you can only confess
Failure will pave you a road to success
Steadfast to your convictions with all of your might
Life is much sweeter when it's worth the fight

There will be times you get caught in the rain
Ya feel time and all substance won't ease your pain
So many questions you have but don't where to start
All the answers you seek are right there in your heart
 Chorus

You will have  days that you Bask in the sun.
There's no distance too far you feel you could run
No water to deep or mountain too high
And moments you swear you know you could fly.

Chorus

I broke down in the city of angels
A place where you'd think you'd find God.
But all I found was a junky named Jesus
Who had a joint for his staff and his rod

He said Fire me up and help me burn
This pain that haunts me each day
So I struck a match then watched the smoke
Carry his memories away.

But it all came back after the stone
when the smoke finally cleared he was back alone
The hurt fell like rain
left him drenched to the bone
it all comes back after the stone.

He said I run and hide into a poisonous realm
from something that I just can't face
I won't waste your time it's not worth a dime
It's best you get out of this place

I said what can I do he said I am past the point
but I thank you for your concern
then he drew a glass gun, shot it deep in his arm
again I watched his memories burn

Chorus
He said God please take me
this is a fight I just can't win
His prayer was answered in silence
as an overdose slowly crept in

His right hand he held a locket
inside a photo of his family
on the back was engraved only three words
in loving memory

He didn't come back after the stone
when the haze cleared he was no longer alone
The hurt  didn't fall
And Leave him drenched to the bone
He never came back after the stone.
I woke up in the city of angels
A place where I found God

  • You'll Find You3:31

  • Good Love 3:00

He stood there in the batters box The count was 0 and 2
He had struggled the whole game
Everyone thought he was through
The winning run stood on 2nd base So he gave it all he got
He swung for the centre field fence And put it in the parking lot.

He didn't give up He didn't back down

He stood tall like a hero with his feet dug in the ground
He didn't want  to lose he had come to win
took a deep breath and let it go and found his second wind

She dances with her heart and soul to every single beat
Hours she gives can take a toll from her head down to her feet
There's times she think it's too much Through the silence and the praise
But she finds her breath in the spotlight standing centre stage.

She didn't give up she didn't back down
she dance just like a summer breeze her feet barely touched the ground
She laid it all out she didn't hold it in She took a deep breath and let it go
And found her second wind

My little boy was tugging at my shirt Asking daddy are you ok?
I said buddy I'm just a little tired It's been a long hard day
He gives me a hug and whispers daddy let's play and that's when I give in
when I've got nothing left he's my second wind

I am never giving up I will never back down
home is where my heart is and it's built on solid ground
I'm never going to lose even when I don't win
My deep breath is the ones I love Their my second wind

Don't you ever give up Never back down
when the odds are stacked against you raze them to the ground
You're  never going to lose even if You don't win
Take a  deep breath and let it go and find your second wind

  • To Go Home3:26

I have always been a fan of songwriters and some of my Favs are Steve Earle, Billy Joe Shaver, John Prine, Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin, Bob Seger, Waylon Jennings, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan and many more. Their ability for paint stories and images through words and melody has always struck a chord with me (sorry for pun). My songs come from inspiration, observation, experience and I think most important imagination. Though I am known to some as a country artist the songs below are are all country they are a little bit of everything. They are recorded in a simple and raw form mainly just guitar and vocal recorded on a Ipad, they are just demo's

so without further ado ladies and gentlemen

The Demo's

I hope you enjoy!

LIVE YOUR LIFE THERE'S NO TOMORROW
STAY TRUE, NEVER BEG STEAL OR FOLLOW
FORGIVE THE ONES WHO TRESPASS AGAINST YOU
HOLD THEM CLOSE FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO

YOU HAVE TO TRUST YOURSELF
IF YOU'RE EVER GONNA MAKE IT
IF LOVE IN FRONT OF YOU, REACH OUT AND TAKE IT

CHORUS
THERE WILL COME A TIME
WHEN YOU GOTTA GO IT ON YOUR OWN
YOU MAY BE A LONG LONG WAY FROM HOME
BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAMS
YOU CAN MAKE THEM COME TRUE
FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND YOU'LL FIND YOU

TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH WHEN THINGS GET UNCERTAIN
OPEN EVERY DOOR WHEN YOU'RE SOUL SEARCHIN'
FACE YOUR FEARS AND YOU WILL CONQUER
WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER

WHEN YOUR DOWN AND  YOU FEEL YOU WILL BREAK
JUST REMEMBER TO LAUGH
WITH EVERY BREATH YOUR TAKE

CHORUS
SOLO
CHORUS
YOU'LL FIND YOU (REPEAT)

The strings are gettin old
She looks a little worse for wear
She's sounding better than she ever has
A voice beyond compare
I've never found her equal
I doubt I ever will
She's like the top rolled back on a summer day

crusin' In a 59 coupe de ville

I left a million miles behind me
Out there lies a million more
There's been women of distinction
I couldn't give em' what they were looking for
Now the lady that I love the best
Is right here in my hands
I know she'll never leave me
For another man

Chorus
As we roll on down the highway
The people and the place we've yet to see
We keep searching for a new way
This old guitar and me

Times are a little tough
I don't play as much as I did
I guess things were kind of better
When I was just a kid
This old guitar still with me
She's always by my side
Think It's time to load up and hit the road
Take her for another ride

chorus twice

  • After the Stone3:40

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones
I grew up on the part of town
mom and dad didn't have a lot
but there was enough everything to go around.
We lived at the end of a dead-end road
where everyone knew everyone
It wasn't always easy but man it sure had some fun

Robbie and Todd were my best buds
we always hung around
for most of the time we were good kids
every now and then trouble could be found
Like the time we play with matches
in my old man's tin shed
we could blown it to smithereens
I can still hear him yelling in my head

My heart goes back to yesterday
Man we had it good
We didn't  have a care living the way we did
That was life as a dead road kid

It was summertime in the backyard
smell of fresh cut grass fill the air
Robbie's cousin was my first kiss playing truth or dare
we rode bikes up and down that road
With sun shining off that rusted Chrome
we would stay outside forever
but when the lights came it was time to go home

Chorus

we were all one big family
everyone that lived on that street
we may not have known it then
But oh those times were sweet

I teach everything that I learned
to my kids from the memories I stowed
They were given to me from everyone
that lived on that dead-end road
Chorus tag  life on Dunbar as a kid

HE’S SPENT MOST OF HIS LIFE OUT THERE ON THE ROAD
HE CAN’T REMEMBER WHICH ONE LEADS HIM HOME
HE FEELS LIKE THE DAMNED WHO’S SPIRITS NEVER REST
SENTENCED TO THESE HIGHWAYS ALONE

HE HOLDS ON TO A DREAM THAT DIED YEARS AGO
LOST IN A THOUSAND YESTERDAYS
HE DROPS TO HIS KNEES RAISED HANDS IN THE AIR
PRAYS PLEASE SHOW ME THE WAY

TO GO HOME WHERE THE EAGLES FLY
TAKE ME HOME WHERE THE OCEANS MEET THE SKY
TAKE ME HOME TO REST MY WEARY BONES
I CAN’T TAKE HERE NO MORE I JUST TO GO HOME

THERE’S A SOLDIER IN A FIELD FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE
DEATH IS SOMETHING HE NO LONGER FEARS
ALL THAT STOOD BESIDE HIM HE HAS SEEN FALL
FOR HIMSELF HE HAS LEFT NO TEARS

THERE IS NO GLORY IN THIS CRAZY WAR
AS HE READIES TO MAKE HIS LAST STAND
HE HOLDS ON TO A LIE THAT HE BELIEVES IS TRUE
BUT DIES FOR HIS HOME ON FOREIGN LAND

GOD TAKE HIM HOME WHERE THE ANGELS FLY
GOD TAKE HIM HOME WHERE THE HEAVENS MEET THE SKY
GOD TAKE HIM HOME SO HE MAY REST MY WEARY SOUL
OPEN YOUR GATES AND LOVING ARMS AND WELCOME HIM HOME

  • I'm Still Running2:52

Since I was a kid I knew what I was gonna do
And you couldn't stop me even if you wanted to
I took off running with a full head of steam
Ploughed right through most of my life
trying to catch a dream

I never lost sight as the years rolled by
Though my feet were stuck to the ground
I knew that I could fly
When times got tough And it came to do or die
I always found a way to keep running

I'm still running you'll never stop me
I'm still running cause my soul is free
I'm still running I'm where I wanna be
Long as I can dream I'll be running

There's  much I've learned this I tell ya friend
It's all about the journey not what's waiting at the end
I love my life  I've got no regrets
if you think I'm done you ain't seen nothing yet
I got a fire in my heart so there's no room for doubt
And it's fill with desire so it will never burn out
I will always stand tall and shout
And tell the world I'm still running

Chorus

So hold onto what You believe is true
Follow your dreams and you'll be glad you do
It don't matter what others may think of you
Just find your road and start running

Chorus
You'll be running. Ya got to give it your all
You'll be running don't worry if you fall
You'll be running  And if you hit a wall
Get back up knock it down and keep running

We'll be running they'll never stop you and me
We'll be running cause our soul is free
We'll be running We're where we wanna be
Long as we can dream We'll be running
